In the Daylight

In the Daylight

‘In the Daylight’ – is a short poem to bring tangible words to anyone who has suffered a broken heart and wished their life different

You’re absence burns in the roaring daylight,

The Suns furious shadow cast flaming bright white.

In the glistening moon light,

The inverted eye of the sky.

Draped in the darkness of night,

That’s when I become aware,

Of this void that has always been there.

I have been talking to you,

Through memories of memories.

My deluded truth,

And though my dreams are impossible to play for keeps.

I get saddened that my story may already have come to end,

Any future I could’ve hoped for cannot start to happen.

My only solace, through dreams of what could have been,

And there I crumble in my fake castle of sin.

It almost feels like that story is just beginning. Writing the internal experience is so difficult, and your poetry is very relatable because you do that so well. It’s honest and raw. I really appreciate getting to read it.

I am listening for your feedback and welcome your comment.
