‘Today’ – A poem annotating a thought process and belief that helped me get through life, to where ever I am today

I wake up today,

I imagine a peaceful place.

The beginning of a world you might say,

As quiet as night and as clear as day.

I look for God,

I see her looking down deep in thought.

She reveals to me who she was,

A reflection of everything I am not.

I see her face intertwined with light,

And behind that light – not even space or twilight.

It’s just fire and ice,

An extraordinary delight.

She whispers ‘you can have what you want,

Even me of course’.

But, I can’t hold her,

Her energy slips through my fingers.

I am not here anymore,

And I can see now, I never was.
