Celestial Drifting

Celestial Drifting

‘Celestial Drifting’ – is a poem I can’t really explain. The words laid heavy on my mind and I really needed to say them

You are the shadowless shadow,

Of the mind that is hallowed.

I know now for sure where you were,

As your words wrap around the parts of me left on this Earth.

This a type of hell doesn’t hurt,

Though it is a formidable type of curse.

Am I letting go of you or letting go of me?

Am I awake or in a dream?

Or am I in the wake of what seems?

Could you and I be an existing impossibility?

A million holds you have on me,

And I haven’t begun even to see.

The unrealness of reality,

As I drift in the thoughts of your celestial body.

Let alone feel your touch again,

A lightning bolt hitting my chest and brain.

Or feel your breath against my neck that would make,

Me be able to walk through hell with a smile on my face.

Feeling like I’m in heaven, it’s my way to say,

As long as your in my thoughts I don’t care if I’m insane.

It doesn’t hurt anymore, you take away my pain,

And this whole crazy world makes more sense, it doesn’t seem so strange.

I’ll carve a way to my soul with the words I unfold,

So, when I leave this Earth and my body hits the dirt.

You can grab the lines and pull them in, roll them up small,

And you can make what you want, anything at all,

With the parts of me I left behind, it will be all your call.

Turning suffering into poetry is one of the oldest, most sacred acts of alchemy. You do it so well. This is beautiful. 🤍
